I was like 6-years-old when this Tootsie Roll commercial used to come on. I was probably watching ABC’s School House Rock!, lol. (I’m just a Bill, sittin’ on Capitol Hill…) ANYWAY!

My daughter (she’s 7) had some Tootsie Rolls today and when I started singing “Whatever it is I thinnnnk I see, becomes a Tootsie Roll to me…” she looked at me like I was crazy, lol.

C’mon, I know I’m not the only one who remembers this…

Bobby Brown has been doing the rounds lately — the singer stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about how he’s been coping since Whitney Houston’s passing on February 11th.

I actually liked how Bobby handled himself in this interview despite reports of him looking “disheveled while slurring words.” He seemed humbled, relaxed and on his best behavior, put it that way.

Ellen also wanted to know why Bob continued to perform in concert with New Edition when he found out Whitney died.  Bobby says he tried to rent a private jet to fly back after receiving the news about Whitney, but said she would have wanted him to stay and perform.

LOL at Kareem. Gotta love him, and I’m sure a whole bunch of folks out there thought the same thing — quick –Jeopardy answer –

If you follow my blog then you know I’ve got plenty of posts on rapper Mase, real name Mason Betha. I was excited to hear about his “spiritual transformation” a while back and learned the former Bad Boy even became a pastor in Atlanta.

Anyway, I stumbled across a recent post at theyolandaadamsmorningshow.com that was titled “Rapper Mase Regrets Becoming A Pastor” that naturally caught my eye.

According to the article, the multi-platinum selling rapper from the late 1990s is now looking back with regret at his faith formation and ordination.

In a TBN interview, Betha, 34, first tried to re-emerge from his initial retirement back into a rap career, he spoke about the people who worried about a return to hip-hop pulling the pastor away from his Christian calling.

“Why is it Christians are more confident in the Devil taking me more than Christ keeping me,” Betha questions. “What I have inside of me is more powerful than anything the world could ever offer me.”

Betha asked hip-hop radio DJ Funkmaster Flex for help with a comeback in a radio interview last month where he spoke about his initial choice to leave the rap industry alone to honor God as a preacher.

“I thought I could do more than rap and I just so happen to be right. I see different artists making clothing lines and people respected it,”

Betha said in the interview last month. “Rap has always been about using your talents for doing more. I’m just the one that got criticized for doing more than was unexpected. I think I overachieved.”

Still, Betha, pastor and founder of El Elyon International Church and Mason Betha Ministries, said he regretted transition from a rapper to pastor.

“I didn’t give myself any room to grow, I went from one extreme to another extreme, I was just so gung ho about what I was learning, that’s all I wanted.”I went so hard in one direction that people had things to say and rightfully so,” Betha told Flex. “I don’t blame them for that [but] it’s been 13 years, let’s move on.”

I’m not exactly sure I’m seeing where he necessarily said he “regretted becoming a pastor” but okay…

Although Betha admitted that people had the right to judge his decisions, he said they should move on since so much time has passed.

The young pastor said he would pick God over music if given the choice again, he asked for prayers while entering back into the rap world with no restrictions.

“I’m taking all the limitations off, they’re gonna have to pray for me,” Betha told the Hot 97 radio personality.”If I had to pick the two I’d still pick God over music any day.

Little Penny from Good Times has come a long way: Janet Damito Jo Jackson turns 46 today (May 16) so “Happy Birthday!” to Ms. Janet.

The youngest child of the Jackson family, Janet began her career with the variety television series The Jacksons in 1976 and went on to appear in other television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Times, Fame, and Diff’rent Strokes.

Janet also went on to star in movies such as Poetic Justice, Why Did I Get Married I and “Too,” The Nutty Professor: The Klumps, and For Colored Girls.

As you know, Janet’s music credits are too much to name here but now Now She’s All Grown Up. Funny how time flies…

What a terribly sad video. I wish God would intervene and just heal this kid. Say a prayer (several, actually) for this young man, and I will do the same.

The kid’s name is Shaun Wilson-Miller of Melbourne, Australia and he has terminal cancer.

Young people who are terminally ill are taking to Youtube more than ever as of late to leave their “Farewell” messages.

These videos are going viral as well.  But I certainly hope that all those who are watching these videos haven’t given up hope just yet, as I believe God still works miracles today.

I also believe amazing things would happen if (especially) a million people (over 1.3 million people have watched Shaun’s farewell video) would just come together to pray for one another. This world would be so different. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Why oh why did they ever take prayer out of schools in America??

Anyway, Shaun’s body recently rejected a second heart transplant.  He says he doesn’t have too much longer to live.

He is just 17 years old. He is too young to die. Period.
