Cute or Not: Willow Smith’s New “Look”

Nine year old Willow Smith (daughter of Will Smith) was seen a couple of days ago in Westwood, California for her brother Jaden’s ‘Karate Kid’ premiere, and I must say that this young ingenue has a look all her own.

She and her mom Jada have received some flack for “the look” but you know me, I try my best to keep it positive here so hey…

It’s just a look, a phase, a form of expression. Who knows, maybe she’ll start a trend with this mohawkish/bouffant style hair of hers? No? Yes? Yes? No? Can’t say the girls doesn’t have a little “punk and spunk,” hehe.

ANYWAAAAY, so we asked our 5-year-old daughter Chelsea what she thought of Willow’s look–and without any hesitation, she pointed out how much she loved Jada’s dress, lol.

Beyonce, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jay-Z, Will Smith and Bill T. Jones attended the post-theater reception for “FELA!” last night at The Palm West in New York City.

Jay-Z and The Smiths are executive producers of the Broadway musical.

Will and Jada Smith Attend American Red Cross Fundraiser Gala

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith attended The American Red Cross Red Tie Affair Fundraiser Gala at Fairmont Miramar Hotel yesterday (April 17) in Santa Monica, California.

Those in attendance were Fergie, Buzz Aldrin, Leeza Gibbons, Susan Blakely, Vanessa Lengies, Cole Hauser, Aisha Hinds and others.

Note: Sad to say, I nearly mistook retired astronaut Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11) for former game show host (Price is Right) Bob Barker. Wink-Wink, you betcha! ; )

Jaden Smith Named ShoWest’s ‘Breakthrough Male Star of the Year’

Jaden Smith (the new ‘Karate Kid’) is already receiving accolades for his work on the feature from the ShoWest film festival.

The young star, who is the son of rapper/actor Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, has been named ShoWest’s Breakthrough Male Star of the Year.

The award was presented Wednesday (March 17) at the event, which was held in Las Vegas’ Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas hotels.

Will & Jada Sue – Don’t Blame Us for Bad Movie

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith claim they’re not to blame for a movie that made absolutely no money — even though Jada wrote the script.

It’s all over a movie you’ll probably never see called “Human Contract” — which Jada wrote in 2007.

In legal papers filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, the couple claims the guy who financed the movie is threatening to sue them because he believes Will and Jada “guaranteed” a return on an investment to get him on board. Will and Jada claim they “made no such representations.”

Long story short — the movie went straight-to-DVD and Will and Jada admit, “it is unlikely that it will ever make a profit.”

Will and Jada aren’t going after the investor for money — but they want a judge to declare that they are not liable for the investor’s lost cash.

Will Smith The Politician?

Will Smith is seriously contemplating a move into politics — his wife Jada Pinkett Smith has confirmed.

But now actress Jada reveals her partner is reconsidering a move from Hollywood to Washington, D.C.

She tells Germany’s Bunte magazine, “Will is thinking about going into politics. He once said he could imagine becoming a U.S. president. He wasn’t joking, he was quite serious about it.”

Okay, this one is just gonna have to grow on me. Gonna wait this one out. Not um, quite convinced…

Will and Jada Host Nobel Peace Prize Concert

Joined by their adorable kids Jaden and Willow, celeb couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith hosted the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway. (December 11).

Held at the Oslo Spektrum, the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honored this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winner US President Barack Obama.

Artists from all over the world — including Natasha Bedingfield, Toby Keith and Wyclef Jean — gathered to help spread the message of peace and celebrate this year’s unexpected Nobel Peace laureate.

Earlier, Will and Jada said that their primary goal was to issue a warm welcome to the world. “I’m going to have to restrain some of my standard dumbness,” Will joked.

“We want to make it seem as though we are hosting very prestigious guests in our living room. We want to be able to just bring some warmth and a little laughter and fun into the program,” Jada added. “And, at the end of the show, we’re all coming out and we’re going to sing.”

The Nobel Peace Prize Concert will be televised early next year.

Jada Pinkett Smith Promotes ‘HawthoRNe’ in Germany

Great news for Jada Pinkett Smith. Her network, TNT gave the green light for a second season order for her drama show “Hawthorne.” So you’ll be seeing 10 more episodes of the medical drama for next season which is set to air next summer.

“Hawthorne” stars Pinkett Smith (also produced by Jada) as a dedicated chief of nursing at a busy hospital who struggles to balance her demanding job with her other role as a single mom of a teenage daughter. The program has been a solid performer for TNT since its June 16 premiere, averaging 3.8 million viewers. More info at Variety

So, gone are the days when shows like this would get picked up for 27 episodes?
