It would certainly be hard for anyone to deny that singer Shanice has one of the most authentic and soulful voices in the music business today.

Her last album, Every Woman Dreams, released by her independent music label Imajah was released in 2006 and it looks like there’s another album in the works. Thank God.

Well, it’s definitely about that time for Shanice to set the record straight and with so many artists out there, who can you really trust? Will the real singers please stand up, please stand up.

Layin’ aside the voice-enhancing computer technology for just a lil’ bit, wouldn’t it be nice to see the real singers take the center stage back?

Anyone who can be bold enough to go on Youtube and pull off and sing a Minnie Riperton song acapella, like it ain’t no thang, has got to be anointed, appointed and approved by God, lol.

Singer Shanice and actor/comedian Flex Alexander. Good people. I’ve known Shanice since I was like 9. Her mom and my dad were in a play together years ago called “A Fillin’ In That Space” at the Maverick’s Flat Theater in L.A. Shanice and I have been friends for years and we still keep in touch. Shanice is still singing! Remember, “I Love Your Smile?”

Anyway, I just so happened to come across her site (again) on Youtube and she’s working on another album, so check out the videos! It’s cool to see celebs who have a “keep it real” attitude and the Internet seems to be the avenue to express that.

On the Agenda This Week

My schedule was thrown off a little today because last night I pulled an “all nighter” playing catch up on the latest high definition cameras. I don’t think I got 2 hours worth of sleep!

Anyway, I need to deliver my movie in the HD format and since there are now 24P/F HD cameras, I should have the great quality I need to give the movie some good “production value”. The movie should also look a lot like film even though it’s digital. If you’ve seen the last couple of “Star Wars” and “Spy Kids” movie sequels you’ll see great examples of the HD24P quality. High Definition is the next generation for everybody. Eventually everyone will have a high definition television and distributors know this. Now I just need to weigh buying verses renting a camera, hiring a Director of Photography or shooting it myself. After all filmmakers Michael Mann, Steven Soderbergh and Robert Rodriguez all do some or all of their own camera work. It’s not that I have an ego and want to do everything myself, it’s just that I may be able to save money doin’ this since my budget is so tight. I have some things pending that may get me more funding for my film, but I have to be realistic for now and plan as if I’m putting my own money (advance from distributor) into it. I have a deadline! Having a distribution deal is exciting but you also have to produce and meet everyone’s expectations because there’s other people’s money on the line.

-On another note, I should be hearing shortly if the video footage of Mrs. Rosa Parks’ homegoing service has arrived as I still need to look at 7 hours worth of footage and eventually edit it into something heartwarming and commemorative.

-I also emailed my script to my friends Shanice and Flex. It would be way cool if they could star in it! Hopefully I should hear something back shortly.

-Still waiting to hear back from a few folks that have connections to some people with “deep pockets”. Maybe I’ll get some more money to make my movie. Oh well, it’s all in God’s hands, I’m just a vessel and it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m confident God will bless anything I put my hands to regardless of the situation.

-Should be uploading another one of my “messages” this week.
