Ciara and Gucci Mane ‘Ustream It’ in the Studio

I try to keep up as much as I can with my music peeps, hehe. Anyway, rapper Gucci Mane and Ciara hit the studio last night and I must say that these two artists seem really down-to-earth, not the usual “ego-trip” ride we usually take with certain artists online.

Gucci, making his first U-Stream appearance, was “chilled-out” with a bottle of water in his hand and Ciara seemed to really go out her way to please her fans and I think that’s great. Hearin’ them reminisce about their high school years back in Georgia made me wanna go back and visit my old elementary school (Winship) back in Macon, lol.

Anyway, Gucci and Ciara are obviously collaboratin’ on somethin’ but Ciara is pretty mum on giving out the title right now–understandable. Gucci did, however, give a lil’ “performance” for his fans and Ciara let everybody hear her new ‘Ride’ remix with Andre’ 3000 and Ludacris.

Jimmy Iovine, Ciara, and Timbaland attend Timbaland’s birthday party held at Drai‘s Hollywood on April 28, 2010 in Hollywood, California.

I usually don’t post too many of these but I know some of you like stuff like this. I just like to listen to the kind of questions the paparazzi asks the celebrities, lol.

In this vid, one papz asks Ciara about her dog named “Tyson.” (French accent and paraphrasing): “Does this name have something to do with de boxeur…Mike Tyson?” LOL.

Tiffany Evans’ Shocking Rendition of Whitney’s ‘I Have Nothing’

Hard to believe Bronx native and singer Tiffany Evans is only 17 and singing like this. BoyOBoy.

Everyone knows that if you’re gonna do a Whitney song you betta come seriously “correct.”

Well, listen for yourself as Tiffany does her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

Tiffany released her first single ‘Promise Ring’ featuring Grammy Nominated R&B Songstress Ciara back in 2007 and is also an actress and has been in projects such as Diary of a Mad Black Woman, The District, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Most recently, Tiffany made statements on Twitter about singer Rihanna’s ‘Russian Roulette’ song, categorizing her as devil worshipper. Rihanna responded by informing listeners on Big Boi’s Neighborhood radio about her dislike for Tiffany.

Tiffany has since apologized to Rihanna and clarified her statement.

But can this chile sing or what? I’m sure we’ll be seein’ her for a long time to come. She’s currently working on her second studio album on the Columbia label.

Secret: You Creepin’ and Yo Man Creepin’ On You

Aiight chall, just so you know, I have a very bad habit of NOT hearing lyrics in songs. I listen to all kinds of music but once in a while a certain song’s lyrics will hit me.

Anyway, when it comes to listening to certain songs, I do become a bit perplexed sometimes in regards to the lyrics I hear.

For instance, here’s this new song by Ciara. Love the groove, really nice harmonies but then it just hit me; the lyrics just hit me…

Man, I enjoy all music artists and even those from my own people. I like Ciara and I try to support all of the artists I like through this website.

But for a minute, I was a bit disappointed when I actually heard the lyrics to this song.

Why do songs have to be about bein’ on “the low?” Dag. Is that what y’all want ladies?

You creepin’, lol, and yo man creepin’ on you, lol. Whatever happened to “black togetherness?”

Sometimes I feel like certain black women settle for less. They’re not willing to wait on the right man so they get a thrill out of becoming a “happy home-wrecker” by messin’ with a married man.

Nerd Mode: If my calculations are correct and from my careful research and thorough study of the term for this type of woman, the word would be: JUMPOFF?

Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s JUST a song and this post has nothing to really do with Ciara, mind you. I’m aware that the song is gonna appeal to a certain audience and it’s understandable. The message in the song is a “reality.” That’s what people do. I understand that many of the songs on the market today is just “business” and I definitely don’t take it personally.

But is this “reality” bringing happiness and togetherness in African-American relationships today?

Mama, I Want to Sing! is coming soon. Not quite sure of the release date but the trailer looks great! The film has an all-star cast: Platinum Recording Artist Ciara, Hill Harper, Billy Zane, Emmy Award© Winner Lynn Whitfield, and Grammy Award Winner© Patti LaBelle. I’m always supportive and excited to see positive films by African-Americans.

By the way, I also spotted Ben Vereen in the trailer and I heard Juanita Bynum is in it. I’d watch the movie just to see what role Juanita plays…lol. I will update when I find out the release date. You guys support it. The whole pre-production, production, post-production and marketing of a film is NO EASY TASK!

Plot: Inspired by the hit off-Broadway play, Amara Winter, a strikingly beautiful and charismatic young singer, is on the verge of pop stardom. Raised in the church by her father, Reverend Dr. Kenneth Winter and mother, Lillian Winter, Amara and her younger brother Luke have a very strong bond.
