I usually don’t throw my opinion in my blog posts as I like to consider myself “an observer” of things. Experience has taught me to just watch things unfold and not judge any situation or anyone.

With that being said, what do you think about what Tim LaHaye (the best-selling author from the Left Behind series) said about president Barack Obama? Is this U.S. president “bringing the country closer to the apocalypse” or is this just right-wing foolery and nonsense to you? Video below.

Evangelical Christian minister Tim LaHaye says that the policy initiatives put forth by the Obama administration are bringing the country “closer to the apocalypse.”

LaHaye issued the dire warning in an appearance this week on Mike Huckabee’s talk show on Fox News.

“Our present president doesn’t seem to get it,” LaHaye explained. “He doesn’t understand that some of the things he’s introducing that many of us call ‘raw socialism’ — it’s a different name, but it’s essentially government control and government domination of everything.”

The evangelical voice said of the political platform maintained by the Obama administration, “It’s going to work against our country and bringing us closer to the apocalypse.”

President Obama Visits “The View”

President Barack Obama will be joining the hosts of “The View” this Thursday (7.29.10), in an appearance that ABC said would be “the first time in history a sitting United States president has visited a daytime talk show.”

In a news release on Monday, ABC said that the presidential episode would be broadcast on Thursday but will be taped on Wednesday. Mr. Obama’s chat with the unpredictable co-hosts, including the staunch liberal Joy Behar and the equally staunch conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, is emblematic of his administration’s outreach to unconventional media outlets.

“Given the difficulty of reaching people in this hyperactive media environment, we look for opportunities to reach people in environments that are not traditional forums for political newsmakers,” Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director, said in an e-mail message. “That’s why we have been willing to have the president on Leno, Letterman and ESPN.”

Mr. Pfeiffer said an appearance on “The View” had been contemplated for several weeks because the president was scheduled to be in New York City for a fund-raiser.

White House Celebrates Music from The Civil Rights Movement

A touch of class. Earlier this week, President and Mrs. Obama began this year’s music series at the White House, first up, a concert in honor of Black History Month with some well-known performers.

It was held in the East Room.

The event featured a star-studded line-up of performers, including Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Bob Dylan, Natalie Cole, Yolanda Adams, John Mellencamp and hosted by Morgan Freeman, with both President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama presiding.

Wow, I’m flabbergasted. Black folks can say “flabbergasted,” right?

Check out this video. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, in regards to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address; actually “forgot Obama was black tonight.” But only for an hour.

ROTFL. Wow, the speech was THAT good, eh? Forgot-the-man-was-black…lord have mercy.

Waiting for someone to explain to me EXACTLY what Chris meant by that? I mean, you see the brotha the president up there, given his speech, his um, color didn’t change, did it?…LOL!

President Obama Greets The Los Angeles Lakers

President Barack Obama greeted the Los Angeles Lakers earlier today at the White House to congratulate the team for their on the court performance and donation of $1 million to Haiti relief efforts.

A little fun ensued when the president teased Magic Johnson, reminding him about Michael Jordan’s ’91 “scoop shot” from Game 2 of the 1991 Finals.

Can’t for the life of me figure out who said, “not for long, not for long, not for long…” in the video.

Schools Gets Backlash For Offering Fried Chicken & Greens For MLK Day

Denver Public Schools experienced widespread backlash after announcing that it would serve fried chicken and collard greens in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The school system claims that they wanted to serve the “southern style” meal to students to pay homage to the civil rights leader’s southern roots but quickly pulled the menu after receiving cries of stereotyping from parents.
