Change of Heart? 50 Cent Says No More ‘Battling’

Rapper 50 Cent says he’ll stop trading insults (battling) with his rapper colleagues. Highly-publicized battles have earned him a “bad guy” reputation and fiddy wants no more of it.

The In Da Club star has hit headlines in the past for his war of words with rivals including hip-hop heavyweight Rick Ross and music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, but he insists he no longer wants to be known for his bad-mouthing.

He says, “I don’t have issues with people until they say things that make me feel like they want a problem. Point to one situation that I’ve been in, one altercation where I was competing with another artist that I’ve started… Ain’t that hip-hop? There’s always been battling. It’s always been a part of the culture.

In the future, because I’ve been kind of captured as the bad guy on some level because they watch me compete and win and it feels like it was effortless, I will (make) a point to not even respond. I’ll just look and watch people when they say things.”

Believe it or not, this IS 50 Cent. Wow, let’s give him an Oscar just for lookin so “sickly” like that. Either da boy’s on crack or he’s really SERIOUS about this acting thing. Just kiddin’.

LOL, gotta hand it to fiddy though; he actually wasn’t that bad as an actor in 2005′s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Aiight 50, I gotta see you pull off this role man–cuz right now you’re definitely “lookin’ the part.”

And speakin’ of “parts,” 50 plays a football player diagnosed with cancer. Ah, so that explains why he looks so thin–so he’s not just playing your typical crack addict, good.

The movie? It’s called “Things Fall Apart” and he dropped from 214 pounds to a whopping 160 with a liquid diet and taking three-hour-a-day treadmill walks for nine weeks.

Now don’t you go tryin’ that without first doin’ your research.

50, now back on tour, explains:

“I was starving. I’ve been eating. I’ll be back in shape in no time!”

Floyd Mayweather Calls His Own Sparring Partner the “B” Word

Boy, Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr. sure is one tough cookie, even calling his own sparring partner the “B” word. And isn’t Floyd a welterweight?…up here manhandlin’ this seemingly heavyweight.

So hopefully he’ll be fighting Manny Pacquiao sometime in the spring? Boxing…what a job, I tell ya.

This reminds me of the time when I got into a fight in the middle of the street, on Hollywood Blvd, against 5 trans…

50 Cent on Tavis: “I Just Wanted A Better Life”

Rapper 50 Cent went on Tavis Smiley’s show the other day and I must say that it was quite an interesting discussion. It may sound strange, but I’m gaining a whole new respect for rappers in general.

I don’t agree with many of the things that these super rap stars are projecting through their music when it comes to their influence on the Generation Y kids of today, but I do believe that rappers are positive influences to a certain degree.

There’s got to be some kids out there who are so influenced by the ambitions that these rappers had to become “rappers” so much so that they’re applying themselves to achieve whatever they want in life…and I don’t mean them setting out to be just rappers or basketball players.

First off, a lot of the rappers that you see in music videos are not actually really that “hard” at all. Yes, many come from the streets and yes, many probably have experienced the hardcore life of hustlin’ drugs, but believe it or not, a lot of these guys just wanted to be successful in life and the rap game was their only way out–at least from their perception.

Nowadays, successful rap artists are keen and shrewd businessmen with an understanding of sales and marketing. It’s probably not a new characteristic for most.

Clearly 50 cent is a person who reads and understands the business he’s in. I think the true question is, do the people who buy these rap artists’ albums really take them all that seriously? Sure, some do, and some fans will go to that fatal extreme of proving themselves as “hard,” and perhaps rap music could have some influence but the truth is, there just aren’t a whole lot of black Eric Harrises and Dylan Klebolds out there. In actuality, music doesn’t MAKE anyone do anything no matter what the influence.

If you saw 50 Cent on the cover of an album holding a gun, would that make you want to go and kill someone? After a James Bond flick, does that make you want to go out and shoot someone? Probably not.

As of late, the rap game can be perceived like the WWF. Great athletes but the fighting isn’t totally 100% real. Learning from the experiences of Tupac and Biggie, rappers are starting to know where to “draw the line” when it comes to goin’ at each other through their words in a song. On the other side of the spectrum, rap battles makes great marketing “attention-getters” for boosting each artists’ record sales.
