LeBron Fan Wearing Heat Jersey Ejected from Yankees/Indians Game

A Cleveland fan (IN CLEVELAND), wearing a LeBron James MIAMI HEAT (number 6) jersey at the New York Yankees/Cleveland Indians game last night caused quite a stir. A mob of hecklers ensued, BIG no-no!

Of course, the “fan” had to be ejected escorted out, lol. Video below.

Youtube excerpt: This LeBron James fan was egging on people at the Yankees/Indians July 28th, 2010, baseball game at Progressive Field. He kept on walking around the Home Run Porch purposely arousing fans of both the Yankees and Indians alike.

A roar of boo’s came from the bleacher seats where he was seated and ejected from in the later half of the 8-0 clobbering of the Cleveland Indians by the New York Yankees. The fan enticed the bleacher section which led to this footage of his ejection from the stadium. At one point, not seen in my video his assumed girlfriend punched or was punched, possibly leading to their ejection. The decades long feud between Yankees and Indians fans were absolved for the time being as both joined together in the dislike of LeBron James’ douchey fan.

The historic Waikiki Hotel is hosting an exhibition of rarely seen photographs taken of pioneering aviator Amelia Earhart when she visited Hawaii and stayed at the “Pink Palace of the Pacific” during the 1930s.

The black-and-white images show a Earhart relaxing in a swimsuit and leaning against a palm tree while she gazes at the ocean. A few show her observing legendary surfer and Hawaii icon Duke Kahanamoku carve a pineapple for her.

The photos show a side of Earhart many people might not be familiar with, especially those who have only seen her wearing a bomber jacket and aviator pants.

Alberto Contador Wins 3rd Tour de France in Four Years

Alberto Contador sips champagne during the final stage of the Tour de France on Sunday. Contador won his third Tour.

Spain has got to be feeling good right about now. First winning the World Cup earlier this month, and now a Spaniard, Alberto Contador, has won his third Tour de France in four years.

Seven-time champion Lance Armstrong finished the tour for the last time, heralding the arrival of a new cycling superstar.

The 27-year-old Spaniard sealed the victory after holding off a challenge from main rival Andy Schleck of Luxembourg in Saturday’s individual time trial. Their battle for the title provided a glimpse of what should become the tour’s next great rivalry. They dueled wheel-to-wheel until separated in Stage 15, when Schleck’s chain broke on a climb in the Pyrenees, then again on a lung-busting ride up the Col du Tourmalet that was the highlight of the race.

American Black Film Festival Wraps 14th Year

The 14th annual American Black Film Festival wrapped up Sunday, with a community showing of its centerpiece film, “Stomp the Yard: Homecoming.”

The festival drew more than 3,000 participants to Miami, Florida, for four days of workshops, panel discussions and movie screenings.

Aspiring writers, directors, producers, actors and others flocked from across the United States and overseas for the opportunity to share their work and network with some of Hollywood’s elite.

Celebrated director Spike Lee taught a master class on filmmaking and offered a sneak peak of his latest project, the documentary “If God Is Willing and the Creek Don’t Rise,” a follow-up to his acclaimed film “When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts” about the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast.

Despite his schedule, Lee said he returns to support the festival whenever he can.

“It’s always reinvigorating to see new talent,” Lee said of the festival. “I was where they are many, many, many years ago.”

El DeBarge Gets a ‘Second Chance’

One of the most surprising moments of the 2010 BET Awards last night was the return of singer El DeBarge. The veteran singer performed a medley of past hits, including “All This Love,” “Time Will Reveal” and the classic “Rhythm of the Night.” He looked great, didn’t he?

He also performed a song called “Second Chance,” a new single off his upcoming album (no title yet). That’s right, El is officially back. Check out the video (interview) below along with a few pics.

According to DeBarge, he chose the name of the song’s title to show everyone deserves another shot.

“I want the world to know that everyone deserves another chance.”

It was a wonderful turnout of music artists last night (June 27th) during the 2010 BET Awards at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Queen Latifah hosted the event, which featured several high performances by artists such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Eminem, Drake and Kanye West, who kicked off the 2010 Awards’ show with his song “Power.”

Prince received the Lifetime Achievement Award and hand-picked his favorite female vocalists to perform his classics.

The women included Janelle Monae, who opened the set with ‘Let’s Go Crazy,’ followed by Esperanza Spalding‘s rendition of ‘If I Was Your Girlfriend.’ Alicia Keys returned to the stage to play piano and sing ‘Adore’ and climbed up onto of the piano towards the end of her performance. Closing things out was Patti LaBelle with the seminal hit ‘Purple Rain,’ where the legendary diva kicked off her shoes and Prince caught one of them. LaBelle and his dear friend Chaka Khan presented him with the award. (BV)

A “touching moment” for the night came during Chris Brown‘s tribute performance to Michael Jackson; after his amazing dance performance in homage to the King of Pop, he literally broke down crying during the singing portion. A sympathetic audience seemed to embrace his humility with a standing ovation, making us wonder if Chris Brown is now “officially” forgiven among his peers.
