I started not to post this but must admit, it had me crackin’ up so bad–couldn’t help it, so forgive me!

But why oh why Lord do they always have to have the most “outspoken” African-Americans on news segments? Ratings, maybe?

And speaking of ratings, I heard Antoine The Bounty Hunter is coming to a reality show near you. Just kiddin’.

It was actually a serious story but not sure if this particular news segment conveyed “serious,” lol.

Ellen DeGeneres Tweets She’s Leaving ‘American Idol’

“Dim the lights…I’ve voted myself off American Idol.”

That’s what Ellen DeGeneres tweeted late yesterday afternoon–so she’s officially leaving the show.

Ellen says she actually came to her decision a couple months ago and admitted that it was hard for her to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. Who can blame her, she’s no Simon Cowell.

She concludes, “I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

I usually don’t throw my opinion in my blog posts as I like to consider myself “an observer” of things. Experience has taught me to just watch things unfold and not judge any situation or anyone.

With that being said, what do you think about what Tim LaHaye (the best-selling author from the Left Behind series) said about president Barack Obama? Is this U.S. president “bringing the country closer to the apocalypse” or is this just right-wing foolery and nonsense to you? Video below.

Evangelical Christian minister Tim LaHaye says that the policy initiatives put forth by the Obama administration are bringing the country “closer to the apocalypse.”

LaHaye issued the dire warning in an appearance this week on Mike Huckabee’s talk show on Fox News.

“Our present president doesn’t seem to get it,” LaHaye explained. “He doesn’t understand that some of the things he’s introducing that many of us call ‘raw socialism’ — it’s a different name, but it’s essentially government control and government domination of everything.”

The evangelical voice said of the political platform maintained by the Obama administration, “It’s going to work against our country and bringing us closer to the apocalypse.”

Gotta give props to Rick Ross, Diddy and the whole Dirty Money (Dawn and Kalenna) crew for a top notch ‘Hello Good Morning‘ live performance on George Lopez‘s Lopez Tonight.

The music was hyped, the dancers were hittin’ it and the crowd was loving it. Very well orchestrated and much props to Lopez Tonight‘s director–camera shots were on point as well.

President Obama Visits “The View”

President Barack Obama will be joining the hosts of “The View” this Thursday (7.29.10), in an appearance that ABC said would be “the first time in history a sitting United States president has visited a daytime talk show.”

In a news release on Monday, ABC said that the presidential episode would be broadcast on Thursday but will be taped on Wednesday. Mr. Obama’s chat with the unpredictable co-hosts, including the staunch liberal Joy Behar and the equally staunch conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, is emblematic of his administration’s outreach to unconventional media outlets.

“Given the difficulty of reaching people in this hyperactive media environment, we look for opportunities to reach people in environments that are not traditional forums for political newsmakers,” Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director, said in an e-mail message. “That’s why we have been willing to have the president on Leno, Letterman and ESPN.”

Mr. Pfeiffer said an appearance on “The View” had been contemplated for several weeks because the president was scheduled to be in New York City for a fund-raiser.

Wanda Sykes on Mel Gibson

If you know Wanda Sykes, you’ll know that she “went there.” During an interview with Jay Leno, the comedian and actress said Mel Gibson has been dropping tapes like Osama Bin Laden and that Whoopi Goldberg should watch who she lets into her house. Ouch.

Sykes also said that fans should look out for her own racist rant where she goes off on her white babies–yikes..hilarious. (fun starts at 1:12 mark)

Memba ‘ROC’? Actor Carl Gordon Dies

The well-respected star of both stage and screen, Carl Gordon, who most of us remember as Charles S. Dutton’s father, Andrew Emerson, on early 90s TV show, Roc, has died at 78 years old.

The cause, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, says the New York Times.

Justin Bieber to Guest Star on ‘CSI’

Alright Justin Bieber fans, here’s another post for ya. Seems Justin is starting his acting career, garnering a guest spot on the hit TV crime series “CSI.” You excited? I bet you are.

Bieber, 16, will play a troubled teen who is faced with a difficult decision regarding his only brother. The pop singer will appear in the season premiere of “CSI” in September, and then make other appearances later in the year as his storyline concludes.

“CSI” producers called Bieber, whose music video for “Baby” has a record 250 million views on YouTube, a world phenomenon.

Here’s what CBS television said:

“We’d like to believe that the phenomenon of ‘CSI’ has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers. This will be true event television,” executive producers Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker said in a statement.

Justin is currently on tour promoting his No.1 album “My World 2.0.”

CBS Announces New Talk Show with Celebrity Co-Hosts

A new one-hour daytime talk show is coming to CBS, with a roster of celebrity co-hosts that includes CBS News’ Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, Sara Gilbert and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

The one-hour talk show will have panelists engaging in discussions about topical events and issues — all through the eyes of a mother. Interesting.

The talk show is expected to hit airwaves this fall on CBS.

I like dance movies/TV, I guess. All the way from the old school Footloose, Breakin’, and Beat Street days to the So you Think You Can Dance and You Got Served movies and TV shows of today. But I wanted to introduce you to a web series that I think you will really enjoy, if you like dancing… like me.

Ever since then I have been keeping an eye out for The LXD and the premiere of their new web series on Hulu. Well, just this past week it debuted. Do yourself a favor, pull up a nice comfortable chair and tune in to Hulu to check out the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers each week. I guarantee you will be blown away!
