Beyonce Scheduled to Perform at Super Bowl Halftime Show

Singer Beyonce Knowles has been asked to perform at the halftime show at next year’s Super Bowl, the Associated Press reports.

Beyonce, whose catalog includes hits such as “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “Crazy in Love,” will follow in the footsteps of Madonna, who served as last year’s halftime entertainment, an anonymous source told the AP.

An official announcement naming Knowles as the halftime performer is expected Wednesday.

The singer belted out the National Anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl in her native Houston, prior to the New England Patriots/Carolina Panthers faceoff.

The Super Bowl is set for February 3 in New Orleans. Last year’s Super Bowl game was the most-watched U.S. show ever with 111.3 million viewers.
