I’m glad I’m not a die-hard football fan — now if it had been basketball — it would have been a WHOLE different story for me.
But anyway, Lance Easley — the NFL replacement referee who made that now infamous touchdown call in Monday night’s Packers vs. Seahawks (see video below) game says he stands by his decision, adamantly stating, “It was the correct call.”
Easley, who refs at El Camino and Pierce Junior Colleges as well as Occidental, all in Southern California says the replacement refs did what they were expected to do.
The replacement ref says this was clearly a case of simultaneous possession — meaning the catch goes to the offensive player — adding, “Put any other official who knows the rules and they would make the same call.”
“We did a damn good job … for the most part.”
Well alrighty then.
