This has to be psychologically frustrating for some celebrities who have been the victim of the online “death hoax.”
Fact is, Mr. Bill Cosby is alive and well, but the comedian fell victim to a celebrity death hoax on Monday. “Bill Cosby” was actually trending on Google’s search engine today because everyone thought the Jell-O pudding man passed away.
Terrible.
According to online sources, rumors began swirling that the funny man had died when a “R.I.P. Bill Cosby” Facebook page surfaced, sending Twitter users into a frenzy.
Cosby’s fans feared the former “Cosby Show” star had died, but they were quickly comforted when tweets started popping up declaring that reports Cosby had died were only a hoax.
On Tuesday, E! News confirmed that the 73-year-old actor was alive and noted that this is at least the second time that Cosby has been declared dead via Twitter. Other reports claimed this is the star’s fifth death hoax.
Craziness.
