Oh I meant to show ya’ll this video last week — in case you missed it. It’s singer Tevin Campbell!
Remember when Tevin was first introduced to the R&B world by Quincy Jones back in 1989? Borrowing a little from Wikipedia; Campbell’s first solo hit was “Round and Round“, which charted at #3 on R&B charts in November 1990 and #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1991 was produced by Prince and was featured in Prince’s film Graffiti Bridge.
He followed the success of his first two singles by releasing his debut album, T.E.V.I.N., in November 1991 which featured the R&B hit singles and Campbell’s #1 R&B hit: “Tell Me What You Want Me To Do” followed by “Alone with You,” and “Goodbye“.
Anyway, last week I caught Tevin in a Youtube video singing one of hits — “Can We Talk?” and all I have to say is wow! I thought I was listening to a record. It was live..it was Tevin..in 2012! Check this video out.
Someone needs to sign this guy again; he’s still very talented. And a true performer too! I think he was in his home, but the way he came out that closet, opened the door and came out the room in the beginning — LOL!! — Tevin is ready for a concert!
He’s 35 now. Watch the video — Tev came out that room SANGIN, lol!
