Wow, you mean to tell me you’ve never even seen the episode when J.J. got shot, Jimmie?
Anyway, Jimmie Walker stopped by “Today” Tuesday with Matt Lauer to talk about his new book “Dyn-o-mite, Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times, a Memoir” and revealed that he never watched a single episode of his own hit show.
“Never, because I was always busy doing other stuff,” the actor and stand-up comedian told Matt.
Interestingly enough, and unlike some actors of old, Jimmie looks back at his time on “Good Times” with fondness. He said it doesn’t bother him when fans see him out in public and yell, “Dyn-o-mite!” because it reminds him of a positive time in his life.
But don’t get it twisted, you won’t catch him breakin’ out the catchphrase himself.
In a 2011 interview on “The View,” Walker joked he’d retired the catchphrase to the Smithsonian.
