Everybody’s out there grindin’. Everyday you’re hustlin’. Sometimes people get so caught up in doing the things they do that they forget about the needs of others, and especially the friends they haven’t talked to in a while.
We use the “I’m busy” excuse to not reach out to others, and meanwhile we have failed those who looked up to us–the people we used to encourage, the ones whose dreams we used to support.
Sometimes people are afraid to reach out and reconnect with friends for various reasons. Unfortunately, and because of the economic downturn, many have lost their homes, their jobs, and their dignity and are simply ashamed and too embarrassed to reconnect with their friends.
But things aren’t always what they seem. You think you’re struggling? Well, believe it or not, there are many people, even some of your old friends; they are going through much harder times than you.
You may have wondered about ‘so and so’ but were too embarrassed to reconnect because you’ve been caught up into your own problems. Besides, who wants to hear a sob story about how you lost your job or why you got a divorce, right? Wrong.
Guess what? And you may be somewhat surprised to know this but…you’re not the only one going through things.
Call that old friend up and reach out, say hello…and encourage them. As you make efforts to sow goodness into others’ lives, God will begin to rekindle things for the better in your own life.
