At a special event in Tokyo today, Sony unveiled its new handheld portable game console, the PSP 2.
The PSP2 actually has a new name–they’re officially calling the console NGP or Next Generation Portable.
Unfortunately there’s no deets on how much it’ll actually cost but it is expected to be out sometime towards the end of 2011.
The NGP is being launched into an increasingly competitive market with Nintendo’s 3DS but today’s news comes on the heels of Nintendo reporting a 46 per cent slide in quarterly profit, below analysts’ expectations.
The NGP comes with dual analogue sticks and boasts a 5-inch OLED touch screen as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity to enable people to download games and other content.
