‘American Idol’ Lowers Age Requirement to 15!

You teenagers are gonna love this one. That’s right, you heard it–American Idol has lowered its age limit requirements for the show’s upcoming season!

Now, singers aged 15-28 will be eligible for the competition.

“A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16,” executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said (via USA Today). “Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool.”

Nashville (July 17, Bridgestone Arena)
Milwaukee (July 21, Bradley Center)
New Orleans (July 26, TBA)
East Rutherford, N.J. (Aug. 3, IZOD Center)
