On John Mayer: Holly Robinson Peete Explains

Okay, so everyone knows about what went down regarding the John Mayer incident the other day.  He used the dreaded “N-Word” and he thought Holly Robinson Peete and Kerry Washington were attractive all in the same [Playboy Magazine] article.

Holly said she “blushed” and was even “levitating” when she FIRST found out about Mayer’s comments about her.  Well, unfortunately she didn’t quite read the WHOLE article but by then it was too late.

Word got out about her comments.

Anyway, as I was going through my usual “briefing,” (lol, this bloggin’ stuff makes you feel presidential–NOT) aiight, I mean my “run-down” of what’s goin’ on in the blogosphere; I noticed Holly was getting some flack for how she “felt” about John Mayer and his comments about her.

I expected some backlash but thought nothin’ of it as I read a lot of “backlashing,” “back-biting,” and “hating” articles everyday, lol.

But what I certainly WASN’T expecting was for Holly to somewhat still be explaining her actions on Twitter today.

She must’a got “Twitter slapped,” lol.  Trust me, it’s not good and especially if you have a lot of followers.

Wow, I thought, people must’ve been really giving her a hard time.  She tweeted this today:

“won’t matter how many times I explain my comments made b4, knew they were bookended by racially charged rants folks gonna stay mad ): it’s ok”

Lately she’s been called a “dumba$$” and a “mammy” for defending John Mayer.  But she does have an explanation for what went down and blogged about it on Wednesday but seems not too many folks are aware of her post–her side.

It was also mentioned that Holly’s husband Rodney Peete was “more excited than Holly” over John Mayer’s flattering comments about her.

I wonder if this was before or after he read the full article?  Anyway, Holly explains that, of course, she wasn’t exactly “levitating” when she read Mayer’s article in its entirety.  Click below to read her side:
