Growing Pains’ Kirk Cameron Debates Darwinism with UCLA Student
Apparently my old friend Kirk Cameron from the 1980s/90s television show Growing Pains got into a “spiritual” discussion with a student about Darwinism at a recent event at UCLA.
Kirk, a devout Christian, has been dedicating a lot of his time to starring in such faith-based movies as the mega hit “Left Behind” series, among other things.
A while back, I flipped through the telly and saw Kirk talking about evolution versus creationism, two extremely interesting topics of discussion.
TMZ seems to paint a picture of Kirk getting “mauled” by this UCLA student, almost as if the conversation was so out of hand that it was too much for Kirk to deal with, lol. First of all, you can hardly understand what’s being said in the video. Secondly, it seemed like an interesting conversation, and both the student and Kirk were cool as a cucumbers. I’ve seen worse, and especially when it comes to people discussing a heated topic such as this. And what’s the biggie about two people discussing evolution and creationism, anyway?
I mean, as long as there’s no fists thrown, everything should be copesthetic, right?
Okay, shameless plug–throwback time! Me back in the day on Growing Pains.
Trivia: Shot 3 episodes: Had a recurring character made for me after producers struggled to cast me for a main new character which was eventually given to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Never watched Growing Pains… but heard that DiCaprio got his start on it. Didn’t know Leo had stole your spot.
