ABC’s Robin Roberts Gets Primetime Love
There’s no question that current Good Morning America co-anchor and journalist Robin Roberts has paid her dues.
Garnering two recent primetime spots for ABC is proof of that.
Her recent interview with Janet Jackson was a nice spotlight for her and especially since Janet rarely does interviews. And what timing. Roberts brought some things out of Janet that only Roberts could. Her subdued, conversational approach to the interview allowed Janet to almost therapeutically share with viewers her inward grievances about her brother’s Michael’s premature death.
But that’s not all. Roberts also got to recently cover country music stars such as Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Rosanne Cash and Vince Gill with her “All Access Nashville,” another primetime special for ABC.
Covering the Nashville gig was the perfect setting for her because she began her career spinning country music records at a radio station in Hammond, Louisiana.
As she awaits the replacement spot for Diane Sawyer, look for Robin to continue to hold it down for ABC on Good Morning America.
Trivia: Robin is also a breast cancer survivor.
