It’s OWN Now! Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network Coming Spring of 2010

own-oprah-winfrey-network-logoYes, it’s called The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).  How intriguing, first The “O” (Oxygen) Channel and now her OWN network, lol.  The only thing we know so far about the network is number one, OWN is scheduled to launch in more than 70 million homes in the Spring of 2010, on what has been the Discovery Health Channel.

Number two, the new soon-to-be network has recently named Allan Singer (former Senior VP of Acquisitions at Comcast) Executive VP of distribution and strategy.

Three, look out for The Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston Show!…? LOL, though it isn’t likely that the new program will replace Oprah’s own show, there is talk of actress Jennifer Aniston possibly hosting a new talk show (with Oprah’s help, of course) on the new network.  Seems a little bit of “Chelsea Handler” (Aniston’s good friend) rubbed off on her.

It will be interesting to see if the new network will venture into new programming to open up the much needed doors of opportunity for minority actors.

Go Oprah!
